Our Story

INNOVATE was formed as a response to the growing concern over the impact of climate change. The founders were motivated to explore ways to contribute to the fight and discovered the voluntary carbon market as a solution as it provides a mechanism for giving nature a financial value and incentivizing the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through the creation and trade of carbon offsets.

We work closely with our clients to gain an understanding of their carbon emissions and devise customized strategies to reduce them. This may include implementing energy efficiency measures or purchasing carbon offsets to reduce the impact of their emissions.

We are dedicated to promoting meaningful change in the fight against climate change and are committed to creating a more sustainable future for all.

Why We Are Different

  • Local Company

As a company based in Barbados, we have an intimate understanding of the local context. Choosing us not only aligns with Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives but also actively contributes to the fulfillment of corporate sustainability goals.

  • Customizable Solutions

We personalize carbon offset solutions that match the specific needs of individual businesses. This includes identifying opportunities to reduce carbon emissions & skillfully navigating the carbon market to offset your carbon footprint.

  • Female President

Having a woman president in the climate change field brings diverse perspectives, improves decision-making, and fosters innovation. This role takes on heightened importance given that women are disproportionately impacted by climate change.

  • Local Engagement

We help support three Barbadian NGOs, each playing a vital role in championing positive initiatives.

Local Engagement

We have teaming up with NGOs based in the Caribbean to tackle climate change from three different angles: promoting the education & empowerment of women & girls, revitalizing coral reefs, & greening Barbados. This approach allows for a more targeted and tailored response to the specific needs of the Caribbean region, while also promoting community engagement and ownership.

Women and Climate Change Women in the Caribbean are disproportionately impacted by climate change due to their social, economic, and biological roles. Women are often the primary caregivers in their households, responsible for managing food, water, and other resources, and are more likely to be engaged in subsistence agriculture. Climate change exacerbates gender inequalities, making it essential to ensure that women are included in climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies. To address these issues, we have teamed up with I Am A Girl, an NGO that focuses on empowering girls and women in the Caribbean.

Coral Reefs and Climate Change Restoring coral reefs is an important strategy for mitigating the impacts of climate change, as healthy reefs can help to sequester carbon, provide coastal protection, support fisheries and tourism, and maintain biodiversity. Therefore we have teamed up with Coral Reef Restoration Alliance (CORALL), a non-profit organization that is dedicated to restoring coral reefs in Barbados through a combination of coral gardening, outplanting, education and community engagement. We can help make a meaningful contribution to coral reef restoration efforts in the Caribbean and help protect these valuable ecosystems from the impacts of climate change.

Food Security and Climate Change The Future Centre Trust is planting fruit trees along the Barbados Trailway to address food insecurity and climate change. This initiative aims to capture carbon dioxide, improve soil quality, prevent erosion, and provide a reliable food source for local communities. In addition to the environmental benefits, the Trailway provides valuable health benefits and serves as a social space for community members to connect and engage in outdoor activities.

We have pledged to assist the Future Trust Center in their efforts.
